City of Tomball
The Situation
As they have for years, the City of Tomball staff was copying the lengthy 'paper' City Council meeting agenda for everyone who required the information. The City, in an effort to update their technology and improve efficiency, determined that they needed to move from a paper agenda to an electronic version. This situation required that the City department heads, the Mayor and City Council connect to a system of viewing the electronic agenda in an easy and efficient manner.
The Solution
Waypoint Business Solutions implemented Microsoft's remote deployment technologies to create an efficient method of distributing laptops to these users. They created a low-cost, easy-to-maintain system to keep a working laptop in front of users during the meeting at all times. Waypoint also created a secured wireless network to help connect users in the city chambers.
The Benefit
By using the laptops in a minimum configuration overhead, Waypoint enabled the City to provide access to those users who did not normally have a computer assigned to them. City officials are now able to connect anywhere in city hall easily and efficiently.
