The Situation
eCardio Diagnostics offers an array of clinical services and leading-edge devices that simplify and streamline the process of arrhythmia monitoring. Headquartered in The Woodlands, Texas, and founded in 2004, eCardio is growing quickly. They wanted to implement a virtualization solution to help them manage that growth on the IT side.
The Solution
Because the IT team at eCardio didn’t have vast virtualization experience, they brought in Waypoint to evaluate their requirements, along with virtualization and SAN vendors that might best meet eCardio’s needs. They opted for VMware for their virtualization solution and Dell EqualLogic on the SAN side.
The Benefit
Following deployment, eCardio’s IT team ran tests to evaluate the success of the project. Performance analysis showed the virtualized environment offered faster transactional speed than their physical boxes. Because many of users access patient diagnostics via the Web, transactional speed is critical. They also believe virtualization supports the organization’s dynamic growth and provides centralized management and increased availability, while the improved SAN delivers centralized storage.
