The Situation

The client, a family owned and operated company that maintains one of the largest construction work forces in the market, had a large number of databases and application servers, but did not have the resources in place to manage the large number of applications running within the environment.

That shortage of resources, and a lack of an integrated and focused IT plan contributed to the fact that the client simply continued to purchase new hardware as an attempt to manage the situation, causing an excess of unnecessary physical hardware on-site.

The Solution

Waypoint Business Solutions consolidated all of the database servers to a single server, helping to streamline backups and management. Waypoint also brought together all IIS web servers into a single server to help consolidate the hosting of these applications, reducing overhead and increasing manageability.

With a less complex environment to manage, Waypoint helped Vaughn Construction minimize overall costs, not only by eliminating those unnecessary hardware purchases, but by eliminating the need to hire additional resources to manage the situation.
